5 Signs Your Renovation Company's Website Is Costing You Clients

3 min read

Most renovation business owners assume their website is fine because it exists and looks reasonably good. But a website can look fine and still be losing you clients every week. Here are five signs worth checking.

1. It takes more than a few seconds to load

Homeowners comparing several renovation companies rarely wait around for a slow site. If your homepage takes more than a couple of seconds to load on a phone, some percentage of visitors are leaving before they even see your work.

2. There is no clear next step

If someone lands on your site interested in a kitchen renovation, is it obvious what to do next? A visible, simple way to request a quote or book a call should appear near the top of the page, not buried three clicks deep.

3. Project photos are missing, small, or low quality

For a renovation business, photos of past work are doing most of the persuading. Small, blurry, or outdated project photos send the wrong signal, even if the actual work was excellent.

4. It is not built for mobile

Most people researching renovation companies are doing it on their phone, often in the evening. If your site is hard to navigate, or text runs off the screen on mobile, you are losing a large share of potential enquiries without ever knowing it.

5. There is no proof it is really you behind the business

Homeowners are inviting a company into their home for weeks. A site that feels generic, with stock photos and no real names or faces, makes that decision harder. Even a short section introducing who runs the business builds meaningful trust.

None of these fixes require a full rebuild. Most can be addressed individually, and even fixing two or three of them tends to noticeably improve how many visitors turn into actual enquiries.
